Meet the Team

Esraa Amr studies human behavior and neuropsychology, aiming to engage curiosity about how brain processes thoughts and emotions through a scientific and accessible approach
Christine Glass is a PhD student in Applied Psychology at Fielding Graduate University whose research explores how different forms of empathy support resilience, well-being, and inclusive social attitudes. She is also investigating how empathy is expressed and perceived in an increasingly technology-driven world, including emerging AI contexts
Holly J. Lawson is an undergraduate adjunct professor in psychology and a Fielding PhD in psychology student interested in studying how emotional regulation and adaptation to stress impact experiences of the menstrual cycle
Tracy Simon, PhD student at Fielding Graduate University, studies how emotion regulation and self-compassion affect pain and well-being. In Dr. Colombo’s Affect & Adaptation Lab, she investigates behavioral and psychological strategies that alleviate suffering and enhance quality of life.
Kate Tortora is a research assistant in the Applied Psychological Sciences PhD program. Her work focuses on advancing preventive health through integrative, mind-body approaches. Drawing on mindfulness and emerging psychedelic-assisted interventions, she explores how these practices can foster resilience, improve health decisions, and enhance well-being across the lifespan.
Jennifer Williamson is an ABD Ph.D. Candidate in Applied Psychology at Fielding Graduate University. Her research examines how hormonal transitions during menopause influence cognition and brain health, with a focus on verbal memory and cognitive reserve.
The A² Lab is powered by Fielding students whose curiosity, insight, and dedication bring our research to life.
Together, we explore how emotion, cognition, and adaptation shape wellbeing — learning from one another and growing as scientists along the way.
